EPEDC Executive Director Terra Burman has lived in Glendive for 7 years and although she didn’t grow up here, her family has long agricultural roots in Dawson County. Prior to Glendive, Terra lived in the Bay Area of California working as a Sales and Training Manager, Merchandising and General Manager for major retailers.
Terra returned to Montana after her second child was born to help with the family ranch day to day duties. She also returned to the workforce as the Executive Director for the Glendive Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture, and although she enjoyed that position, she is excited to take the opportunity as the Executive Director of Eastern Plains Economic Development Corporation and be a part of our Region’s successes.

Meet Teresea Olson, our dedicated part-time Community Development Specialist with a deep-rooted connection to Eastern Montana. Teresea, along with her family, has been an integral part of the Eastern Montana community for the past 30 years, calling Glendive home for the last 25.
As a local small business owner since 2003 and with 35 years of experience in healthcare, Teresea brings a unique blend of entrepreneurial spirit and healthcare insights to her role. Her extensive background reflects a commitment to the well-being of the community, aligning seamlessly with her personal and professional goal of helping Eastern Montana prosper.
Teresea actively contributes to the community's growth and welfare. Currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Glendive Area Chamber of Commerce, Dawson County Domestic Violence Program, and Badlands to Badlands Trails, she leverages her skills and experiences to make a positive impact. Her involvement in these organizations underscores her dedication to fostering a supportive and thriving community.
Meet the board of directors
The Board of Directors of the Eastern Plains Economic Development Corporation currently includes a representative from six of the seven communities and all five counties, appointed by that government entity. In addition, Southeastern Montana Area Revitalization Team (S.M.A.R.T.), Prairie County Economic Development Council, Wibaux County Chamber of Commerce, and the Montana Department of Labor and Industry each have a representative on the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors also includes several private sector representatives and one at-large member for a total of 16 members. This includes 11 elected officials (58%) and 4 non-government representatives (42%) plus the two at-large member.

In March 2024, Hannah became a part of the Eastern Plains Economic Development Center as the Food & Ag Development Specialist. In her role she will be providing support to specialty crop producers, local ag producers, and other value added ag businesses in our region as they look to start, grow, and make valuable connections on their business journeys.
Prior to becoming a part of the team she moved from Southwest Minnesota graduating from South Dakota State University with a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Communications. She lives in Circle on her fiancé's family ranch and enjoys hunting, and helping on the family ranch.
Hannah has a background in marketing, as well as social and digital media. She is very excited to be a part of the FADC team and see our Five-County Region thrive.

Welcome Jaime Shanks, our second part-time Community Development Specialist. She moved to Glendive nearly 10 years ago from the Black Hills of South Dakota and has been an advocate for Eastern Montana growth and betterment.
Jaime's education and background is in marketing, advertising, and education and she spent seven years as the Marketing & Foundation Director for Glendive Medical Center. She is broadening her territory of helping organizations thrive through her work at EPEDC.
Jaime believes in "boots on the ground" leadership and volunteerism and is currently in her second term as the chairperson for Dawson County Healthy Communities Coalition as well as leading the Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) as chairperson. She also serves on the Montana Nonprofit Association as a Board Director.
She lives in Glendive with her husband and owns a small bakery and art studio and enjoys hosting people at their small hobby farm.
